Josh White | Author

The bellow of the freight train echoing against the empty factory wall, the rustle of late June corn, the towering walls of thunderheads overhead; the everyday drama of his Midwestern upbringing informs Josh White’s funny, witty, and poignant prose about people facing problems of their own choosing, of their own making, and of their own undoing.

He lives in Brooklyn and is working on two novels.

Short Stories

🧈 Butter – Short Story – LitMag

Mac had long carried a linesman’s tool bag to Midwestern fairs where he competed at each locality’s butter sculpture contest in search of a fame that eluded him due to his choice of venue for his talents.

🏥 Gary – Short Story – Bandit Fiction

You stay somewhere long enough it becomes home. Gary knew his nurses, had seen their pics of kids and pets and partners.

🌨 Doula – Short Story – Change Seven Magazine

The weather app showed the storm veering down into Ohio, which I doubted because Michigan always got hit with the big ones.

🐻 Bear – Short Story – The Headlight Review (Spring 2022 Issue)

Early in the hike Rye fell and bloodied his knee against a rock so Alexander carried both of their packs, one strapped to his front.
